Concert Band Presents Musical Journey Around the World
HICKORY, N.C. — The Lenoir-Rhyne University Concert Band will present a spring performance on Friday, April 26 at 7:30pm in the P.E. Monroe Auditorium on campus. This event is free and open to the public.
The fifty-five member Concert Band will present a musical journey through the people and places of Africa, the British Isles, Continental Europe, Russia, and the United States. Included on the program are Guiseppe Verdi’s La Forza del Destino, Gustav Holst’s Second Suite in F, Vasilij Agapkin’s A Slavic Farewell March, Robert W. Smith’s Africa: Ceremony, Song and Ritual, Alfred Reed’s A Festival Prelude, and Norman Dello Joio’s From Every Horizon – A tone poem to New York.
